More arousing…is the tension that builds between the couple—you know they are attracted to each other on a basic level…want to get together and will get together but the exciting part is how and when.”

Alexandra:  “'There’s nothing vulgar about love.Vulgar is a middle class invention.'Love, at its best – apparently – and most primal, can’t be tamed.It is at times violent, but judging from Swept Away, terribly fulfilling."

Carla: "...the call to the boyfriend wasn't to discuss these questions, it wasn't to discuss the hotbed of political issues, or to tell of the horrible people who live in this wealthy county and annoy the crap out of us. Instead, it was to talk of how hot beach sex is, how erotic to be held down, safe but in big trouble, of being called a dirty whore and liking it and seeing all that in a movie with a plot, a story and characters.
