NOWHERE IN AFRICA (2001)

This movie had no sensual moments for me at all. The movie was about a Jewish couple and their daughter who fled together to Kenya from Germany before Hitler got his hands on everyone. They found safety on a farm in the middle of nowhere and had to adjust to a life of poverty and a completely different culture.

Although I am more open now than I used to be about watching movies with subtitles, I still whine when I have to watch one. And this movie was really LONG. In addition to that, for me the movie included too many heavy and unappealing subjects like poverty, death, animal sacrifice, anti-Semitism, infidelity and more. I wasn’t convinced that  Jettel (the wife) and Walter (the husband) liked each other at all yet all of the sudden late in the movie they had a few passionate moments. It didn’t fit for me.

I would not recommend this movie as a sensual film.
